Enjoy

We caught Emma speaking "her Ukrainian" in the classroom today.
She's been hanging out with the babushka next door lately.

Wow. At first I thought she was going off on some impassioned political rant, but then she started singing. She is so hilarious...so dramatic. :)

Wow- she sounded so authentic (though I've never heard the language). Was she actually saying any real words? I love that "busted!!" face there at the end!! ;) So cute.

That was so hilarious, though I understood only 2 Ukrainian words out of the whole speech and performance.:)

does she talk to herself often, cause if she does she got that from me... and me.

Sounded like a cross between "Ukrish" and "Суржик", but Joshua understood just fine. Did she say something about "very American"? We miss you guys.

Kirghizian folk song - I thought about it too =)))) But дуже Америка proved it was Ukrainian! Praise the Lord this child is so enthusiastic about our language! I think I did the same with English when I was her age =)) I adore the McNamees children! =))

Hi!
I have been enjoying your blog for some time now (I came across it after searching the web for missionaries in Ukraine) We adopted our son from the Donetsk Oblast in 2005 and we fell in love with both him and Ukraine at that time. Reading your blog helps us feel a current connection to Ukraine and what God is doing there!
Anyhow, I loved listening to your little one "speaking Ukrainian" - she definitely has the intonation down!!! :) So fun!
Also when I showed my husband your post on using LOST as a tool to share the Gospel he was so excited! He shares the Word in our fellowship here and I think you have planted a potential seed!!! He is a big fan of LOST! :) :)
Blessings to you and the ministry you have been given there in Chernigov--
Christine
Our family's blog (which archives our adoption in 2005) is at www.voelkerfamily.blogspot.com if you're interested. :)
