Props From DG

I introduced you to my good friend and fellow laborer Jake Knotts a handful of posts ago. For a long time he's been really working hard to get good christian authors translated and printed here in Ukraine. Well, John Piper's ministry desiringGod just mentioned Jake on their blog for his efforts to get Piper's books published here. Pretty cool! Anyway, check out DG'sblog and In Lumine the publishing company Jake as started.

Ok, Conor I'm guess you wrote that anonymous comment on my blog about the header so now I'm going to school you on some art history.

Toward the end of the 1800's a movement began in the art world that was later called Art Nouveau. While people usually think of Art Nouveau as being posters with flowing lines, trees, flowers, and women with long hair it was actually a style that encompassed architecture (Gaudi), interior design, furniture, textiles, painting (Mucha, Kimt), and advertising.

In Eastern Europe the most notable Art Nouveau artist was a man named Alphonse Mucha who was from what is now the Czech Republic. Steph Sisemore had one of his posters hanging in their house in Priluki.

Art Nouveau had a huge impact on the city of Prague. So because we had just returned from Prague and seen a lot of Art Nouveau I styled our header in an Art Nouveau-ish way.

It may not be to your particular taste but it is in the Art Nouveau style so if you are going to say it is gay, then at least give a reason for its lameness (which I'm assuming is what you meant by the word).

Yeah, I've had to delete my own comments on Jake's blog a couple times.

I think it's funny we are having this conversation on two separate blogs. . .

Thanks Conor. I couldn't of done it without you! If it wasn't for you and all you've done. Well, I don't where I would be.
Thanks buddy! Jake

Is this the same Piper that picked a peck of pickled peppers?
I don't think I would consume any of his peppers.
